About Us

Like you, we are a family of horse lovers. They were the first thing I started drawing as a child and lead to a lifetime love of creating art. Years later our journey into the equestrian world truly took off when Eden developed a passion for all things horse. Today, she is an equine vet assistant and eventer. She also spent four years in equine facilitated therapy, working with dozens of horses to provide support for individuals with disabilities.  One of those riders is my youngest daughter, Ava, who loves nothing more than giving her therapy horse, Bear, big hugs.

When we were unable to find products and gifts that fit our personal style, we decided to design them ourselves. It was only natural that Eden’s horse, Winona, became our muse and mascot for The Moody Mare.

Our mission is to offer a modern twist to the equine gifting market. We aim to bring a little sass and a lot of joy to everything we create. If you pick up a card and say, “I know who would love this!” then we have achieved our goal.

Kimberly creates all of the art you see on our products.  She is part of Ava’s equine therapy team and has loved witnessing the impact horses have made on Ava’s life.  She is also Eden's biggest eventing cheerleader (even if she tends to watch holding her breath and peering through her fingers).

Eden Kingsley

Eden is our ideas gal, resident horse fanatic, and shipping specialist. Eden is an ambulatory vet assistant, jumping from barn to barn with her amazing vet. When she isn’t with horses she’s… well, she’s always with horses, let’s be honest here. But if she’s not wearing her scrubs, she’s in breeches, spending her evenings and weekends training to compete in Area VII horse trials with her partner pictured here, Kahlua.

Ava has taken after her big sister and is a horse girl
through-and-through. If there was a blue ribbon awarded to best muzzle-kisser, it would be hers! Equine therapy has truly changed her life, and we are so thankful that everything her team does for her.

Winona

The mare that started it all. Sassy, spirited, and truly worth her weight in gold. Eden purchased Winona with minimal horse experience under her belt, a loan from an incredible friend, and a true teenage gut feeling that it was meant to be. And dare we say, she was right. Winona has more passion for turning barrels than jumping oxers, so she has moved on to live with a new partner, whom she adores. This moody mare is our heart, and none of what we have built would be possible without her.
